Two down...almost

My second Quilts for Kids quilt is awaiting binding.

Because it was such a simple top, I wanted to jazz it up a little with the quilting -- but may have missed the mark. I used a combination of straight and wavy diagonal lines, and it's funky enough that I'm afraid one day it may prompt some little girl to ask, "Mommy, was the lady who made this quilt for me on drugs?"

Maybe I should put a disclaimer on the label?

I am having just this same worry with the picnic quilt I'm quilting right now. I was going for organic lines a la Tallgrass Prairie studio, but am afraid that unlike Jacquie's work (and yours, which looks whimsical), mine just looks sloppy.

Hopefully, since it's an auction quilt rather than a quilt show entry, nobody will study it as closely as I have!

Washing a newly quilted quilt makes a big difference. It'll look different with some lumps and bumps! 8^) I think it'll be just great!

I like the quilting. Maybe we are both or drugs or more likely it is just cute.

I think the quilting is fun, playful and funky (in a god way - modern ). It is a good match of the colorful top. Thank you for sharing! I would love to try this myself...

Looks fun -- hopefully such a question from the recipient would be answered with a comment like, "It's just the creative spirit at work, dear." ;)

I did that exact quilting once, but it was on a half square triangle quilt.

I just did the squiggle lines on a quilt this Fall. I always love how it turns out.
