With all my unpacking and vacation laundry done, I'm ready to get down to work -- but I'm having a hard time figuring out where to start. I came home to a project I didn't finish by the time I left and a pile of UFO's, and it'd be way too easy to dump them all in favor of my new fabric and all those ideas swirling in my head for little girl quilts.
So while I waffle between impulse and self-discipline, I'll leave you with some pictures I took of my Kaffe & Kona zig-zag quilt while I was in Michigan -- I don't think I ever posted it in its entirety. The lake offered such a great backdrop I was throwing it all over the place, and I'm sure the neighbors thought I was a little nutty. I even ran it up the flag pole on the dock, but took it down quickly when I realized if it blew into the lake I'd have to fish it out, and it wasn't exactly the best swimming weather.
I like the idea of having a quilty flag to fly up at the house...but that would add yet another project to a very long list.
I really need to stop thinking for a while.

Love your pictures, especially the flag one. Taking good pictures of your quilts can be a challenge. Having proper light and a good backdrop... and not to many curious faces wondering what on earth you're doing...
Have fun with the quilt you working on! Wether its an new one, or an "old friend"...
These are fun pictures. Love the quilt!
I love the quilted flag idea. Here in the uk we don't generally have flag poles, but one friend does and we bought a plain pink and a white flag for her daughter's 18th and appliqued Happy Birthday onto the pink. She loved it
What a fun photo shoot! So what if the neighbors think you're nutty?? Love your flag idea - what a great shot! But that weather does look threatening!
Good luck on trying to finish up the UFO. It's always more fun to start a new project than finish an old one, isn't it? I don't know about you, but I'm easily swayed by the new project!
Great photos Kate!! A beautiful backdrop for a beautiful quilt!
I love the way you quilted this! I just did a zigzag quilt for the fair, but like how you quilted this better. I laughed when I read about you not wanting to have to "fish it out", and I totally agree- I need to quit thinking- too many ideas and I don't have time for them all!
I need to find myself a lake for taking pictures of the four in-progress quilts when (if?) I finish them this month.
