One month down, two and a half to go..

Well, I survived my self-imposed No New Fabric January by sorting out my stash and reminding myself that I don't need any new fabric.

I know I should be injecting money into the economy right now, but if I'm going to do that, I'd really rather pump it into essentials like food. And long underwear. And TiVo.

And after unsuccessfully trying to reclaim my kitchen from the growing Fabric Monster (I got it all contained, but that doesn't mean there's any less of it) I have renewed conviction to win this battle. I just need to fight a little harder.

At least until the quilt show in April -- where I'll find an irresistible white tone-on-tone to make into a flag so I can wave it.

Good for you! I made it through half of January. I'm going to try to make it through February, too.

And by April you will be so fabric-starved you'll buy anything in sight! lol

You could always pump the economy by buying more storage bins.....

Need has nothing whatsoever to do with anything!
I just HAVE to have new fabric now and then (more often now, it seems ...)
Well see how long you can go on ... I know for a fact I would get "sick for fabric" if I didn't buy some, at least once a month ...

I admire your control. What is the secret.

i'm awash in guilt. i broke down the other day at walmart no less. it's one of the only ones left with fabric...i was just walking by the sewing section, i swear i wasn't shopping for fabric and i spied what looked like linen. walmart doesn't carry linen. it wasn't, but it was osnaburg...i love osnaburg and you can't find it anywhere but online. it was a huge roll...i bought it ALL at 2 bucks a yard. I was looking around to see if someone there would stop me. nope. bought it all and glad i did. now i have to build another room to store it.

I got "THE TALK" last night from "THE HUSBAND" about "THE FABRIC". Apparently, I have spent over $400 on fabric since Christmas. (That's $400 that he knows about.)(That included my Christmas and birthday gift cards, just so no one thinks I am rich or insane or something.) So, ok, I will stop. I did promise to stop. I can stop. I think.

But... does Goodwill count? Like used fabric? I mean, what if it's on sale... REALLY cheap, like 75% off...? And what if I need some certain exact colors...? This is not going to go well for me. I admire your restraint. And I'm jealous that you get to go to the quilt show.

i am still baffled at how you find time to quilt and blog and be all crafty when you work for the she-devil. you are even more amazing than i previously realized. :) or else, you just don't sleep.
